A Scoop of Fries Please
I went to McDonalds the other day, and an interesting question arose. What do you call the container that french fries come in? Please refer to this picture:
A friend of mine called it a box, and I openly mocked him because a fry container clearly does not consist of six square sides. It's not even a rectangle! So what is it called? What do they put on the order form?
I asked around and nobody could agree on a single term. Everyone had their own answer. I think it's a sheath, but other friends called it a pocket, a pouch, a sleeve, etc.
I took it upon myself to call a local packaging company and ask what they call this mystery fry holster. I was shocked to find that they refer to it as a scoop. What?!? Are we talking about fries or ice cream here?
That's about when they hung up on me, but I'm not letting this die. So....
If your answer isn't reflected in the above survey, please voice your opinion in the comment board.
Think outside the sheath,
Matt

Best Christmas Song Ever
I was wrapping some Christmas gifts last night, but I was having trouble getting into the mood (it happens to everyone, so shut up). I needed some Christmas music to help work myself into a holiday frenzy, and I was looking to avoid the synth stylings of Mannheim Steamroller. Luckily I found this hilarious twist on an old Christmas Carol, and I couldn't wait to share. Just click on the wacky spinning record below to check it out.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays,
Matt

Three Funny Websites
I don't know what it is about comedy and the number three, but seeing as how I wanted to share some of my favorite comedic websites, three sounded like a lot less work compared to ten. So here you have it. Three of my favorite funny websites:
The Onion
I've been a big fan of The Onion since before they even had a website. (So, if you've only recently heard about The Onion, I'm totally cooler than you!) Since their inception, The Onion has been pumping out some of the smartest satire this generation has seen. Around the same time the National Lampoon, a former satiric powerhouse, was pumping out some of the worst .
Be sure to browse The Onion's formidable archive of articles online, but if reading online isn't your thing, the Onion also published a series of books documenting their satiric gold including Our Dumb Century , Embedded in America , and Homeland Insecurity .
The Sneeze
I don't know how I stumbled upon this particular website, but I've been an avid reader ever since I did. Steve, the owner of the site, writes in a style that is beyond funny. He hasn't been posting as often as I would like (the man has a family and full time career, damnit!), but there is enough on his site for hours and hours of laughs. My personal favorites include:
Steve Don't Eat It
Cheap-Ass Cereal Hall of Fame
The Best of the Sneeze
Check it out! You won't be sorry.
Cracked
I know, I know. I thought Cracked was just a Mad Magazine ripoff. Well it was, but their new website is a step in a fresher, funnier direction. The site is updated five days a week, and includes spoofs, comics, message boards, videos, and more. Some of my favorites include:
So You've Been Pushed Naked Out of a Plane
The 5 Most Obviously Drug Fueled Celebrity TV Appearances
The 15 Funniest People of 2006
