A Scoop of Fries Please

More Humor

I went to McDonalds the other day, and an interesting question arose. What do you call the container that french fries come in? Please refer to this picture:

A friend of mine called it a box, and I openly mocked him because a fry container clearly does not consist of six square sides. It's not even a rectangle! So what is it called? What do they put on the order form?

I asked around and nobody could agree on a single term. Everyone had their own answer. I think it's a sheath, but other friends called it a pocket, a pouch, a sleeve, etc.

I took it upon myself to call a local packaging company and ask what they call this mystery fry holster. I was shocked to find that they refer to it as a scoop. What?!? Are we talking about fries or ice cream here?

That's about when they hung up on me, but I'm not letting this die. So....

Well I chose a pocket because there was no option for a holder.

Some people call it a french fry cup, but it is typically called a french fry container.

I usually think of it as a carton, but I hardly ever eat at McDonalds. I do not think it can be called a box though....a box has to close or at least be rectangular, otherwise why not be able to call a pitcher a box or a jug a box? Gotta draw the line somewhere!
